
Green Wave Set for Another Weekend on the Road

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University sailing hits the road again this weekend to compete in a pair of separate regattas on Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22. The Green Wave will be represented by a coed team at the Aaron Szambecki Team Race in Norfolk, Virginia, and a women's crew at the Blaire Herron Memorial Women's Team Race in Washington, D.C.

The Wave will be one of 10 teams competing on the waters of the Elizabeth River in the Aaron Szambecki Team Race hosted by Old Dominion. The other teams setting sail from the Old Dominio University Sailing Center includes Georgetown, George Washington, Fordham, Eckerd, Navy, Rhode Island, Stanford, Dartmouth, and the host school Old Dominion.
Racing in the Aaron Szambecki Team Race is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:45 a.m. CT on Saturday and approximately 8:30 a.m. CT on Sunday. Competition at the regatta will feature one of the following possible formats determined by the regatta chair:

The Blaire Herron Memorial Women's Team Race is slated to start at approximately 9 a.m. CT on Saturday and 8:45 a.m. CT on Sunday. The format for the regatta will be determined by the regatta chair depending on time and conditions. The following are the possible formats listed in preferred order:

- A double round robin of all teams in attendance followed by a top four and bottom four
- A single round robin of all teams in attendance followed by a top six and bottom two
- A single round robin of all teams in attendance followed by a top six
- A single round robin of all teams in attendance followed by a top four
- A single round robin
