Green Wave Deals Jaguars Second 7-0 Defeat of 2026

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's tennis team defeated Southern 7-0 Friday afternoon at Goldring Tennis Center.

With this win, the Green Wave improved to 6-7 on the season, while the Jaguars fell to 0-11.

Asaf Friedler and AJ Mercer secured a win at No. 3 doubles before Hady ElKordy and Alec Gaudin clinched the opening point for the Wave.

Tulane carried the momentum into singles, sweeping all six matches. Alec Gaudin, Daniel Phillips, and Steven Ricewere the first to finish, helping the Green Wave secure the victory.

Tulane will be back in action against conference foe No. 60 Rice (8-6) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Goldring Tennis Center (200 Broadway). The match will also be carried on ESPN+ here with Paul Boron calling all of the action.
