
Swimming and Diving Has Four CSC Academic All-District Selections

Greenwood, Indiana  – The Tulane swimming and diving program saw four of its student-athletes honored nationally as members of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District ® Division I Swimming & Diving Team, the organization announced on April 7.
Tulane's four Swimming & Diving Academic All-District selections this year are sophomore Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou, senior Olcaytu Hatipoglu, sophomore Phoebe Johnson, and senior Andrea Zeebe. It is the first time for Petropoulou, Hatipoglu, and Johnson. This was the second selection for Zeebe as she also named CSC Academic All-District last season.
Tulane has now totaled eight CSC Academic All-District selections the last two seasons.
Tulane's four Swimming and Diving Academic All-District selections make the program one of eighth in the league to have multiple selections this season. The Green Wave also one only three Division I swimming & diving institutions, along with LSU & Southern, from the state of Louisiana to be recognized with selections this season.
In order to be a member of the CSC Academic All-District Team, all four student-athlete needed to have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or above, be a sophomore or higher in academic class plus are required to have participated in at least five of team's regular season competitions this season or place among the top eight in an event at the conference championships
The College Sports Communicators, formerly the College Sports Information Director of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming & diving honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The four Academic All-District ® honorees now advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late April.
The program finished fifth overall at the 2026 American Conference Swimming Championships with 905.50 points. The program totaled an event victory and five medal winners in the competition. Lise Coetzee won the 200 free and placed second in the 500 free. Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou was the runner-up in the 200 butterfly. Eliza Lennox took third in the 100 free. The 800 relay team of Coetzee, Andrea Zeebe, Phoebe Johnson, and Rafaela Sumida placed third. Diver Libby Brewer was named the league's Freshman Diver of the Year and also qualified and competed at NCAA Zones this season. Tulane also saw 11 qualify and compete at the 2026 CSCAA National Invitational Championships in Danielle Barberie, Lise Coetzee, Nicole Fant, Paula Gaya Bisquerra, Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou, Ebba Holgersson, Phoebe Johnson, Mary Kate Kupsky, Eliza Lennox, Gwen Shahboxz, and Marin Shimkus.
