Amaral and Rice Conclude Day One of East Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships First Round got underway Wednesday as a pair of Tulane athletes capped the night off in the 10,000m race. Rogerio Amaral and Tommy Rice ran in the nightcap at UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
Amaral and Rice were the first two Green Wave athletes to compete this week, running in the men's 10,000m tonight. Amaral crossed the line first among the duo, posting a time of 29:58.53 to finish 30th. Rice placed 42nd with a mark of 30:40.17.
The Wave will be in action each of the next three days with four more athletes competing. Tulane will bookend the day as Cara Salsberry throws in the women's hammer at 9:00 a.m. CT, and Blezzin Kimutai will close out the night at 8:10 p.m. CT in the women's 10,000m.
