Started off his season placing in the top ten in both the 100m and 200m events at the Cole-Lancon Conference Challenge

Before Tulane: Ran two years of track at Byrd High School in Shreveport...Was a sprinter for his high school team, racing in the 100, 200 and 400...Held a personal best of 11.08 seconds in the 100...Also played three years of football as a wide receiver and one year of baseball as an outfielder.
