Cory Houston was hired as the strength and conditioning coach for the Tulane University baseball program prior to the 2017 season.
Prior to Tulane, Houston served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at FIU from 2012 to 2016. There, he designed athletic performance programs for the baseball, softball, and women’s tennis teams. He also assisted with the football program.
A native of Columbus, Mississippi, Houston got his start in strength and conditioning as Mississippi State University as an intern which later developed into a graduate assistant role working with the football, baseball, and tennis programs from 2008 to 2011.
Houston received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science and one of his master’s degrees in physical education from the University of West Alabama. He later received a second master’s degree in exercise science at Mississippi State. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Houston currently resides in Harahan, Louisiana with his wife Eliana and their two children, Grace and Cameron.
