Rebecca Story is in her first year as the Graduate Assistant Coach (Cross Country / Distance) for the Tulane Cross Country / Track & Field programs after being hired in August of 2024.
Story comes to Tulane after most recently serving as the University of Virginia Cross Country / Track & Field Graduate Assistant Coach during the 2023-24 seasons.
During her time on the coaching staff at UVA, the Men of Virginia won the 2024 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships while the Women tied for third place. Story assisted in the planning and operation of the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was heavily involved in daily operations for the team as well as external operations while traveling.
Story received her Bachelor’s degree in human biology from Stanford University where she competed on the Women’s Cross Country / Track & Field program as a distance runner from 2018-2022.
From 2021-22, she was a member of Stanford’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Sub-committee on Campus Affairs. She was a member of Stanford’s fifth place team finish at the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championships and was apart of the 2021 Pac-12 All-Academic Cross-Country Team.
Story went on to receive her M.Ed in kinesiology from the University of Virginia where she competed on the Women’s Cross Country / Track and Field team during the 2022-23 seasons.
