2022-23 Track Season: Competed in seven meets between indoor and outdoor seasonâŠPlaced eighth in the mile at the Samford Invitational (4:21.56)âŠHad a season-best 8:28.40 at the Scarlett and White Invite in the 3000mâŠSeason best of 15:08.95 in the 5000m at the Music City ChallengeâŠSeason best 9:02.64 in the 3000m steeple at the Bryan Clay InvitationalâŠCompeted and placed sixth in the 3000m steeple at AAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships (9:15.77).
2022 Cross Country: Competed in each meet for the Green Wave⊠Best finish was at the UNO XC Opener with a career best time of 15:15.0 (Sept. 2)⊠Had a career best time in the 10K at the NCAA Division I South Central Region Cross Country Championships with a time of 33:34.3 (Nov. 11).

Competed at Rigas English Gymnasium in the middle and long-distance under coach Andrejs Sannikovs ⊠During his time there, Lapins was a three-time Baltic Champion, National Vice- Champion, and Senior Baltic vice Champion...He was a World /European Qualifier in track and fieldâŠIn cross country, Lapins earned the title of first-ever U20 Cross Country Champion and National U20 Champion and was a European U20 Cross Country Qualifier⊠He was also a member of the high school choir and a member of the student council and made Dean's List his first semester here at Tulane.Â

Son of Dace Griga and Aivars Lapins âŠEnjoys exploring new places, playing video games, and making foodâŠAfter Tulane, he hopes to set a national record in the 3km/steeplechase and enhance Latvian athletics with the knowledge he has learned while attending school at Tulane⊠One thing nobody knows about him is that he is from Latvia (his accent doesn't give it away).Â
