2001 Outdoor: Recorded a career-best time of 15:03.75 in the 5,000 meters at the Southern Miss Invitational. Tulane[apos]s top finisher in the 10,000 meters at the C-USA Championship. His personal best effort in the 10,000 was 31:10.22.
2001 Indoor: The top runner for the Wave in the 5,000. Also ran the 3,000. Finished eighth at the C-USA Championship in the 5,000 (15:21.64).
2000 Cross Country: Named to the all-district team after finishing 24th at the NCAA South Central Regional Championship, running the 10K course in 32:19.1. Earned all-conference honors after finishing 10th at the Conference USA Championship with a time of 25:19.3 over the 8K event. Collected All-Louisiana honors as well.
2000 Outdoor: Posted a season-best time of 8:43.10 in the 3,000-meter run at the U.S. Collegiate Series Meet in Tallahassee (4/15).
2000 Indoor: Had a strong showing the 5,000-meter run at the LSU Invitational (1/29) with at time of 15:44.73. Posted a season-best in the mile with a time of 4:36.13 at the New York Sports Museum Invitational (1/15).
Prep: A 1995 graduate of Poror High School. Also attended Egerton University in Kenya. Earned all-district honors in cross country.
Personal: Born December 12, 1978 in Sirwa, Kenya. The son of Jeptum and Elima Lagat. Majoring in economics. Enjoys listening to gospel music and traditional cultural music.
