2001: Played in 69 games and 24 matches as a sophomore...split time as a right-side hitter and a middle blocker, finishing fourth on the squad in blocks per game (0.74) and tied for fourth in total blocks (51)...had four or more blocks on five occasions, including a season-high six vs. UNLV (9/1)...put away a season-best nine kills at Jackson State (9/4) and vs. Marquette (10/19), and recorded a career-high .600 attack percentage vs. Marquette with nine kills and no errors in 15 attacks...hit .300 or better six times and did not commit an attack error in nine matches.
2000: Played in 64 games and 26 matches as a true freshman...finished second on the team in blocks per game (.922), third in solo blocks (nine) and fourth in total blocks (59)...also proved to be a solid offensive player as she led the squad with a .286 attack percentage while finishing fifth in kills (tied with 145) and kills per game (2.26)...tallied double-digit kills five times, including a career-high 17 against Montana State (9/15) at the TCU Invitational...posted a .550 attack percentage against Nicholls State (9/26) when she tallied 11 kills and no errors in 20 attempts...was instrumental in Tulane[apos]s upset win over arch-rival LSU (9/8) as she served a career-best five aces to give the Green Wave their first win over the Lady Tigers in three years...blocked a career-best six attacks on two occasions - vs. UAB (11/10) and in the C-USA Tournament win over Memphis (11/16).
High School: Three-year letterwinner at Granite Hills High for coach Dan Santos...as a senior, helped the Eagles win the Grossmont League Championship with a perfect record en route to earning second-team All-Grossmont honors and being named to the Senior Conference All-Star Team...named second-team All-Grossmont as a junior while earning all-league academic honors, and garnered first-team All-Grossmont recognition as a sophomore and earned the team[apos]s Big Block Award...listed among the top five percent of recruits in the nation as a senior...off the court, was a member of Speech Team, won the GSE Coordinated Science Award and was recognized in Who[apos]s Who Among American High School Students.
Club: Played club volleyball for San Diego Club from 1997-2000...helped the team finish 10th at the Cal-Davis Tournament in 1999.
Personal: Born Kimberly Marie Swafford on June 21, 1982 in El Cajon, Calif...daughter of Jim and Julie Swafford...has two sisters, Shannon and Kara...chose Tulane over UNLV, Georgia, Tulsa and South Carolina...double majoring in management and marketing.
