RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Ledaryl Billingsley had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Tulane's defense held Virginia Commonwealth to 28.1 percent from the floor Tuesday night as the Green Wave beat the Rams 85-44.
Tulane (4-1) hit six of their first eight shots en route to an early 15-2 lead.
A 25-9 run over the final 12:28 of the first half gave Tulane a 42-19 halftime lead. The Rams (3-1) never came within 23 points the rest of the game.
Virginia Commonwealth (3-1) suffered their worst home defeat since Dec. 16, 1977, when they lost to Auburn 109-59.
Billingsley had season highs in points and rebounds. Four others for the Green Wave scored in double figures. Morris Jordan had 12 points, while Dylan Osean, Linton Johnson and Waitari Marsh each had 10.
Reggie Okosa led the Rams with 10 points.
