Baseball Names Assistant Coach

NEW ORLEANS - Rob Barelli has joined the Tulane baseball staff as a volunteer assistant coach, Green Wave head coach Rick Jones announced Tuesday.
Barelli comes to Tulane with coaching experience at both the college and high school levels. He spent the past three seasons as a volunteer assistant at Iowa State University, while pursuing a Master?s Degree in exercise physiology.
In 1996, Barelli taught and coached baseball at St. Joseph High School in Greenville, Miss. Over the past six years, Barelli has coached at numerous baseball camps around the country.
Barelli played Division I baseball at St. Mary?s College in Moraga, Calif., where he received his BS in health science. He was named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team in 1994 and ?95. Prior to St. Mary?s, Barelli earned his AA and graduated with honors from De Anza College in Cupertino, Calif. In 1993, he was named second team All-Coast Conference and was a two time recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award.
