
Volleyball Falls To LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. ? The Tulane volleyball team (4-3) could not fight off LSU?s strong attack as they fell to the Tigers in the championship match of the Tiger Invitational, 3-0, on Saturday. Kim Sentmore and Lacey Vicknair were named to the all-tournament team as Tulane went 2-1 on the weekend.
The loss to the Tigers was the first time this season the Green Wave has been swept in three games. The Tigers defeated Tulane by the scores of 15-12, 15-9, 15-12, as the Wave was held to a .161 hitting percentage as a team.
In the match, Sentmore tied a career high 23 kills and hit a season high .310 with 10 digs. For the tournament, Sentmore recorded 53 kills, averaging 5.89 per game. Vicknair totaled six kills, six digs and five blocks against the Tigers, and recorded 11 blocks in the tournament.
Kelly Thompson led the Tigers with 16 kills, and was named the tournament MVP.
Tulane travels to Hattiesburg, Miss., on Wednesday for their first Conference USA match up of the season as they face Southern Miss. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
