NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Reserve forward Ledaryl Billingsley scored 11 points Monday night to lead Tulane 53-46 over New Orleans.
Billingsley scored eight points to help Tulane (14-4) take a 28-24 halftime lead, but the Privateers (7-9) hit four straight baskets to grab a 33-32 edge with 17:43 left.
The lead changed hands twice more before Billingsley hit three free throws, Linton Johnson got a layup and Waitari Marsh got a jump shot for seven straight points which put Tulane ahead to stay at 44-39.
Marsh's jump shot, with 11:42 left, was the go-ahead shot, 41-39.
It was the fourth straight home victory for Tulane, which is 11-1 at home this season. The Privateers have lost two straight and three of their last four games.
Clyde Ellis had season highs of 16 points and nine rebounds for UNO.
Nobody else made more than 9 points for either team.
UNO outshot Tulane 36-34 percent from the field but scored only seven points in the final 13 minutes.
The Wave outrebounded the Privateers 41-27 - UNO's biggest rebound deficit of the season - and each team committed 17 turnovers.
The Privateers held an opponent to less than 60 points for the fourth time in the last five games, but their 46 points were a season low.
Tulane extended its lead in the 28-year-old series to 19-14, including nine victories in the last 13 meetings.
Attendance at the New Orleans Arena was 4,399.
