NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Dylan Osean got 9 of his 16 points on timely 3-point goals as Tulane held on for a 78-75 victory over Houston in a Conference USA game Saturday.
Tulane (15-4 overall, 4-3 CUSA) also capitalized on the 31 fouls called against Houston (8-12, 2-5), but could only make 21 of the 43 foul shots it took.
Tulane, ahead by as many as 21 points in the first half, led by 43-30 at halftime but had to survive a late run, fueled by three unanswered 3-point goals, to get the victory.
Sterling Davis added 13 points for Tulane and reserve Wade Mason contributed 10.
George Williams led Houston with 21 points. Gee Gervin added 17 for the Cougars, but made just 6-of-19 field goals, 2-for-12 from long range. Kenny Younger, who was averaging 16 points, was held to just a field goal in the second half.
