
Tulane Baseball Ranked No. 16 In Preseason Poll

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Tulane baseball team begins the 2000 campaign ranked No. 16 according to the preseason poll released by Baseball America on Tuesday.
Along with three Preseason All-Americans, James Jurries (Louisville Slugger Second Team), Brandon Belanger (Louisville Slugger First Team) and Henry Bonilla (Louisville Slugger Second Team), Tulane returns its entire infield and two additional starting pitchers, as the Wave begins the 2000 season ranked 16th according to Baseball America. The publication lists Stanford as the preseason favorite with Cal State Fullerton and Alabama rounding out the top three, respectively. In the poll, five of Tulane's 2000 opponents are listed among the Top 25 teams in the nation, including three in the Top 10.
Tulane begins the 2000 baseball season on Friday, February 11, at Turchin Stadium with a three game series against San Diego State University.
