
Tulane Falls To South Florida

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Altron Jackson had 21 points as South Florida defeated Tulane 65-54 Wednesday night in a showdown for first place in Conference USA's National Division.
B.B. Waldon added 18 points for South Florida (15-9, 6-5 Conference USA), which improved to 11-0 at home this season.
Tulane (17-7, 6-6) got 17 points from Morris Jordan.
Tulane scored the final four points of the first half, though South Florida held the lead 33-26 at the break.
The Green Wave then started the second half with a 9-0 run in grabbing a 35-33 lead with 16 minutes left. Sterling Davis completed the stretch with a 3-pointer and rebound basket.
South Florida responded by scoring the next eight points and going ahead 41-35. Waldon and Jackson had four points apiece.
Jackson added two straight fastbreak baskets - including a slam dunk as the Jaguars went on to outscore their guests 32 points to 28 in the second half for the final edge.
