Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Junior Pam Buff fired Tulane's low round for the second straight day and finished in a tie for sixth place at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic, which ended Sunday.
Buff shot a final-round 81 in windy conditions to finish in a tie for sixth place with a three-round total of 235 (+19). It was Buff's fourth top-10 finish of the season and the 18th of her career. LSU's Tina Howard won the event with a score of 225 (+9).
As a team, Tulane finished the tournament with a team total of 966, which placed the team in a tie for sixth in the 12-team field. Tournament-host LSU won the event with a 918 total, 31 strokes ahead of runner-up South Florida.
Other Tulane finishers include sophomore Marcela Gonzalez (T36th/245), freshman Kathy Schafer (T40th/246), senior Meghan Bolger (T44th/247) and senior Catalina Lara (T56th/252). Junior Bonnie Hanlin, who finished in 62nd place with a 258 total, competed as an individual.
The 54-hole tournament was contested at the University Club Golf Course, a par 72, 6,265-yard layout.
The Tulane women's golf team will next be in action on April 14-16 at the 2000 Conference USA Women's Golf Championships in Shalimar, Fla.
