Tyler Town: The Green Wave has added three players from John Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas. Offensive linemen William Blaylock and Donald Madlock have joined the Wave along with athlete Tommy Griffin, Jr. That trio will join two current Tulane football players, senior defensive end Floyd Dorsey and redshirt freshman wide receiver Cletus McGee, from Tyler. The Lions, coached by Allen Wilson, reached the state title game in 2000.
Brother Combo: The Wave has added its second set of brothers with this recruiting class. Quarterback Billy Don Malone and younger brother Gary Malone, a wide receiver, join the Green Wave after prepping at North Lamar High School in Blossom, Texas. Last year, Tulane welcomed Joe Traina and Matt Traina, twin offensive linemen from Coral Gables, Fla.
Teammates: The Malone brothers and the John Tyler teammates are not the only high school teammates joining the Wave in this recruiting class. Linebacker Anthony Cannon and safety Sean Lucas were both Jaguars at Stephenson High School in Georgia. In addition, tight end Tye Graham is the second player in as many years from Houston's Kingwood High to sign with the Wave. He joins sophomore Laine Sambrooks, who was signed as a defensive lineman, but moved to tight end last season. Wide receiver Bubba Terranova will join former a pair of Salmen High School teammates at Tulane: sophomore wide receiver Tristan Smith and junior wide receiver Nick Narcisse.
Same Names: A pair of "Cannons" join Tulane for the 2002 campaign, one on offense and one on defense. Quarterback Nick Cannon from Hahnville, La., and Hahnville High School and linebacker Anthony Cannon from Stone Mountain, Ga., and Stephenson High will bolster the Wave. That pair will give the Wave six sets of players with the same last names. In addition to the Cannons, brothers Billy Don and Gary Malone and Matt and Joe Traina are members of the Green Wave. Non-related "same last names" are Quentin Brown, Winfred Brown and signee Taurean Brown, Chris McGee and Cletus McGee, and Joe Mitchell and Adrian Mitchell.

Florida Footballers: By adding four prep stars from the state of Florida, Tulane has boosted its number of Florida players on its roster to 12.
Georgia On My Mind: Two more Georgia natives have signed with Tulane, lifting the Wave's Peach State representation to seven.
Stephenson Connection: Linebacker Anthony Cannon and safety Sean Lucas will not be the only Stephenson High School athletes at Tulane. They join basketball player Byron Parker in New Orleans. Interestingly, Parker played junior college basketball at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, the hometown of three of the 2002 Green Wave signees.
Hall-of-Fame Hometown: Linebacker Terrence Peterson will join the Green Wave after a high school career at Alvin High School in Alvin, Texas, the hometown of baseball Hall-of-Famer Nolan Ryan. In addition, defensive lineman Taurean Brown is from Katy, Texas, the hometown of another famous fireballer - Roger Clemens of the New York Yankees.
