Tulane vs. Louisiana Tech Game Notes
The Tulane women's basketball team plays its first game of a three-game road swing on Tuesday, as the Green Wave travel to Ruston, La., to face in-state foe Louisiana Tech. The Green Wave don't return home to Fogelman until a Dec. 18 meeting with James Madison.
Tulane enters Tuesday's contest with a 1-2 record after dropping a tough 61-60 decision to George Mason at home on Saturday. The Wave's two losses have come by a combined four points and are sandwiched around a 73-58 triumph over Pac 10 foe Oregon State.
Senior Kelly Nadeau tops the Green Wave with a 15.7 points per game average and leads the squad with 11 assists and 11 steals through three games. Junior Lakethis Hampton is Tulane's top rebounder, pulling down 7.7 caroms per contest, with senior Tiffany Wilson not far behind at 7.7 boards per game. Hampton is currently averaging 14.0 points per game, while junior guard Kinya Lennix adds 12.5 points per contest.
Louisiana Tech brings a 2-0 record into Tuesday's meeting with Tulane, though the Techsters have not played since last Monday when the squad posted a 67-61 road win over Illinois. Tech opened the season with a 109-60 victory over Stephen F. Austin. Tuesday's game will serve as Tech's home opener. The Techsters currently have four players averaging in double figures, led by Amisha Carter's 17.5 points per game.
Tuesday's game marks the seventh all-time meeting between Tulane and Louisiana Tech, with Tech having won all six previous meetings, with four having come in Ruston. The Wave's last trip to Ruston came at the start of the 1996-97 season as part of the Preseason WNIT. Last season, the two teams met at the New Orleans arena, with Tech pulling away down the stretch for a 68-53 victory.
