He is just the second player in school history to record three season with 1,000 minutes played and finished his career ranked 16th all-time in scoring at Tulane (1,216 points).
In addition to Brown, seven other Conference USA players were selected in the draft. TCU's Bingo Merriex was the first pick overall, going to the Texas Rim Rockers, while DePaul's Sam Hoskin went second to the Westchester Wildfire. Other C-USA selections were: Louisville's Marvin Stone (Dodge City Legend, fourth round, 29th overall), Cincinnati's Leonard Stokes (Westchester Wildfire, fifth round, 44th overall), South Florida's Will McDonald (Dodge City Legend, fifth round, 46th overall), Donald Little (Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs, sixth round, 55th overall), and Eric Bush (Kansas Cagerz, seventh round, 57th overall).
The only other Lousiana collegiate player drafted by the USBL was Louisiana Tech's Antonio Meeking (Dodge City Legend, sixth round, 54th overall), although Oklahoma's Quannas White, a New Orleans native was selected with the sixth pick overall by the Oklahoma Storm.
Brown was taken with the pick immediately before the Brevard Blue Ducks drafted high school phenom LeBron James.
Tulane posted a 16-15 record in 2002-03, defeating Houston in the first round of the Conference USA Tournament before falling to eventual champion Louisville on its home court. The Green Wave graduates five players from this year's team, but its recruiting class for next season has been ranked as high as No. 29 in the country.
