Ringgold Earns CSC Academic All-District Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane men's basketball redshirt sophomore Tyler Ringgold was selected as a member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2026 Academic All-District® Division I Men's Basketball Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Ringgold earned the honor by performing well in the classroom posting a 3.75 cumulative GPA and, on the court, averaging a career-best 9.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native started 32 games for the Green Wave this season averaging 44.1 percent shooting from the field while adding 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
The redshirt sophomore forward is the first player to garner CSC Academic All-District® honors for the Wave since Sion James following the 2023-24 campaign.
In order to be a member of the CSC's Academic All-District Team, student-athletes need to have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or above, be a sophomore or higher in academic class plus are required to have participated in at least 90 percent of the team's competitions this season or start at least 66 percent of the team's games.
The College Sports Communicators, former the College Sports Information Director of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
As a team, Tulane posted an 18-15 record during the 2025-26 season and reached the second round of the American Conference Championship. The Green Wave ranked second in the conference in free throw percentage connecting at a 76.6 percent clip as a team and blocked shots averaging 4.48 rejections per game. Tulane ultimately ended the season in ninth place in the American with an 8-10 record which included the most road conference wins (5) since the 2022-23 season.
