
Tulane Defeats UNLV in Men's Tennis Action

Three freshmen picked up singles victories as Tulane University improved to 3-1 on the season with a 5-2 victory over UNLV in men's tennis action on Saturday afternoon at the Goldring Tennis Center. Tulane is back in action on Sunday afternoon, hosting SMU at 1 p.m.
The Green Wave had a big contribution from freshman newcomer Alberto Sottocorno, who made his collegiate debut and picked up wins in singles and doubles. The 6-3 Bolivian clinched the match victory for the Wave with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles. He also teamed with freshman Jacobo Hernandez for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
Freshman David Goulet improved to 3-1 in spring singles action with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 3, while Hernandez had a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles. Goulet also teamed with senior Michael Kogan for an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles.
The other singles victory came at No. 2 as Dmitriy Koch notched a 6-7, 6-3, 10-5 win.
Tulane is back in action tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon hosting SMU at 1 p.m. at the Goldring Tennis Center.
