
Wave Upsets Pepperdine in Men's Tennis Action

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Senior Michael Kogan posted wins over ranked opponents in singles and doubles to lead Tulane University to a 5-2 victory against 23rd-ranked Pepperdine University in men's tennis action on Saturday at the Goldring Tennis Stadium.
Kogan, who is ranked No. 11 in the nation, recorded a 6-3, 6-3 win over 25th-ranked Pedro Rico at No. 1 singles. At No. 1 doubles, Kogan and freshman David Goulet clinched the doubles point with a thrilling 9-7 win over Rico and Calle Hansen, who are ranked 18th in the country.
Junior Dmitriy Koch also had a key victory, closing the match with a 6-2, 7-6 win over the 46th-ranked Hansen at No. 2 singles.
Freshman Ted Angelinos clinched the victory with a 6-1, 7-6 win over Alex Herrera at No. 3 singles. Sophomore Jacobo Hernandez also picked up a singles victory, winning 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.
Tulane returns to action next Sunday, hosting Arkansas-Little Rock at 1 p.m.
