TEMPE, Ariz. - The 18th-ranked Tulane men's team rolled to its ninth straight victory, upending Arizona State, 4-1, in windy conditions at the Whiteman Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon. The Sun Devils are ranked No. 38 in the nation. The Green Wave had a 10-match winning streak last season.

Tulane (15-3) opened the match by winning the doubles point. Sophomore David Goulet and freshman Jonah Kane-West came back from an early 0-3 deficit to notch an 8-5 win at No. 3. Junior Jacobo Hernandez and sophomore Ted Angelinos improved to 14-2 in pairs play with an 8-6 victory at No. 2. The No. 1 court was deadlocked at seven apiece when the doubles ended.

In singles action, the Green Wave dropped its match at No. 1 singles as the Sun Devils evened the score at one apiece. However, Goulet cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 2 and Kane-West won at No. 6 singles for a 3-1 Tulane advantage.

Hernandez provided the clincher with a 7-6, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles for the 4-1 decision.

Tulane will continue its spring break trip in Tempe with a match against No. 58 Georgia Tech on Thursday at 11 a.m. (Central). The Yellow Jackets defeated Arizona State, 4-3, on Tuesday.
