Quotes from Tulane head coach Lisa Stockton
"The main thing for us was intensity. Defense is something we've been really working on and we were trying to create some offense off our defense. And that's something I think we did really well in the first half."
"This is one of those games where people who hadn't played much had the opportunity to play tonight and I thought they did a nice job. Tia Jackson came in and really looked to score. Dominique Philpots did a nice job. It was good to see our younger players - like Tia and Chassity Brown - come in and play well.
"I'd like to have played with the intensity in the second half that we did in the first half. I thought we were pretty focused the first half and we lost our focus a little bit in the second. I told the players in the locker room, when LSU was up on us the other night, they didn't let up at all in the last part of the game. And we really had to have that mentality to win a championship."
On Chassity Brown's play at point guard
It was good to see our younger players having a chance to play. Chassity is very athletic and has a great upside. It was a good chance to get her some minutes and see what she can do. She's a good offensive player, but she's a very good defensive player, too.
