NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane Green Wave will look for their ninth Tulane DoubleTree Classic championship in the 11-year history of the event Saturday, as the women's basketball team takes on Texas-Arlington at approximately 7:20 p.m. The game follows the consolation game, which features Ole Miss and Fordham. The Wave (10-2) earned a berth in the championship game with a 78-44 throttling of Fordham. A game in which no Tulane starter played more than 25 minutes (Megan Valicevic) and four played 21 or less.
Junior forward Alendra Brown set a season-high in points for the second-straight game, scoring 14 points, and freshman guard Chassity Brown chipped in a career- high nine points, seven coming the in the first half.
Tulane forced 26 turnovers by the Rams, turning those miscues into 35 points, while holding Fordham to just eight points of Tulane's mere eight turnovers. The Green Wave also owned a 48-22 edge in points in the paint.
Texas-Arlington (5-7) defeated Ole Miss, 66-55, in the first game of the tournament behind a double-double from Tiffeny Riles (19 points, 12 rebounds).
