Head Coach Lisa Stockton
"I thought it was more special that we got to win the regular season conference championship here at home, in front of our fans and on Senior Night. There's really not a better way to send off our seniors. There were a lot of celebrations tonight: D'Aundra's 1,000 point, the championship, our Senior Night."
"We did a pretty good job on [Jillian Robbins]. Their shooters really lit it up to get back into the game. It was a game we thought we had in hand, but they battled to make it a ballgame. They came here to win. They came here to battle and I think that shows a lot from that team. The tournament is at Tulsa, so they could really make a run."
"If you look at the last few minutes of games, D'Aundra shoots very very well. And tonight was no different. I think the key basket for us was Ashley [Langford]'s three. That really put it out of reach. It was nice because we used a lot of shot clock and got it to her at the end and she hit it."
"It is a lot. It's something that going into the season, no one would say 'you're going to win 24.' You just don't think that way. I attribute a lot of it to consistency. Our players have been consistent. We've been the same team every night and pretty focused. Our kids know their scouting report and they come to play."
Senior Guard Jami Montagnino
"Coming into this game it really started to hit me, it was the last time I'll prepare for a game at Fogelman, get ready in the locker room... my last tip-off. I told myself it was going to be okay as long as we win. That means we get a ring, we win our regular season conference championship, at home -- which has never been done at Tulane. There's really not a better way for me to go out."
"D'Aundra and I knew what we had to do to lead our team to victory. We had to play like seniors. We had to take care of the ball. We had to lead us on defense and hit shots when they really counted. I'm really proud of her, that she got her 1,000-point ball. I'm glad she could join me in the 1,000-point club, that means a lot to us. I'm really excited."
Senior Guard D'Aundra Henry
"We just have to go out and be focused and not let this get to our heads as we try and win a conference tournament now. It means a lot. I know all the girls look up to us as seniors and we wanted to perform well so they can have something to look forward to on their senior nights. We wanted to make sure the fans were in it and the fans had fun, too."
On her Senior Night
"I feel old. I am the oldest person on the team... and my teammates rag on me about that. But it feels good. I've been here a long time and it feels great to reach all of these accomplishments. I just have to go out and play the rest of these games like it's my last and be a good role model for the younger ones."
