Tulane Head Coach Lisa Stockton
"I think this game was pretty much like I thought it would be. I think its wide open. There is not a lot of difference from 1 to 9 or 1 to 8. I think Houston did a good job. They just rebound so well and attack the boards that it really gave us problems. I give them a lot of credit. After playing last night and being so depleted, they came in really pumped. I'm really proud of our team. The one thing that we have done really well is finish games and I would like to see us do it again."
Were you surprised about the push after Tye Jackson fouled out?
"I think that motivated them a little. You could see when she fouled out they were upset about it, because you can see that the players really revolve around that, just like a technical. When a player is out, sometimes different people step up. It can be a little more difficult to play against because you don't know who will step up."
Sophomore forward Megan Valicevic
"Coach Stockton tells me to bring a lot of energy into every game I play, and I just went in there with a special feeling and wanted to score."
"It's important for our bench to chip in because our starters are averaging 20+ minutes a game, and in a tournament setting, they're going to get tired. Our bench has to bring energy and give us extra legs."
Senior guard D'Aundra Henry
"The layoff gave us time to get prepared. We came in early yesterday and we watched them play, and I think our layoff and our extra day really helped us considering they had a game yesterday."
Sophomore guard Ashley Langford
"I don't think we played very good defense to be honest. Of course we had our press, but we let them in the paint way too much. It was not a good defensive effort tonight."
Junior forward Jennifer Sands
Comments on what you are going to different in the semifinals... "We need to focus. That is the bottom line, focus and get it done. We have to figure it out because the game is tomorrow, so you have to figure it out or your done."
