On the state of her team through eight games
"I'm happy that we have different players emerge who can score. Going into South Florida without Brittany and with Indira limited, I knew we had to have some people step up. It was great to have different players step up and be able to score for us."
On Sunday's opponent, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks
"I think they play a lot like we do. They're quick, they like to press and they like to throw a lot of different kind of defenses at you. They're similar to us like we're playing right now in that they'll use a four-guard lineup. A team like South Florida has size, but this team doesn't have size so they're going to get up and down the floor and really run the ball."
On the importance of playing well in the non-conference portion of the schedule
"I think they are very important. When you have significant wins not just as a team but as a conference, it helps establish the conference strength for the whole year. A team like Stephen F Austin is important because they're a team that can win their conference championship. They're very similar to Prairie View. Those teams may not be in a BCS conference but they're really going to vie for a conference championship. I think wins over opponents like that are the best wins for your RPI."
On being in the middle of a three-games-in-six-days stretch
"It is tough, but the nice thing is that two of those games are at home. We were able to come back from South Florida, have a day off, recoup and then we don't have to travel. Another good thing is that this is during break. During break, we're not distracted with other responsibilities. Hopefully, we can handle that and be ready to play strong during the break."
