On her team's overall performance in the 30-point win
"We did a good job tonight. The starters began the game pretty intense, started the press and got some steals. And when we went to the bench, we got some good things from them as well."
On every player having double-digit minutes
"We really tried to make sure we could get everyone some playing time. The great thing again is that we have different players who can play big. Janique is coming back (from injury) and this is just her fourth game. We tried to get her some minutes. The biggest thing with players who haven't played is conditioning. That's why we brought Tyria in and out. She hasn't played at this level for very long and I didn't want her to get tired. It's a good game to get a lot of people in there. Brett Benzio's foot has been bothering her a little bit so we decided not to use her much in the second half. I think it's just the case of a lot of games in a few days and it's just a little sore. It was good to see the team play and see so many positive things."
On hitting a season-high eight 3-pointers
"Until that last eight minutes we were really on fire from the 3. We missed a couple down the stretch but up until that point we were shooting over 50 percent from there and that was good to see."
On using the press to create some easy baskets
"We pressed sparingly, but we feel it's something that is part of our game and we wanted to make sure we worked on those kinds of things. It's best for our offense. I think it takes some pressure off of our offense when we can get those steals."
On the Green Wave's defensive effort against McNeese State
"That's been something we've been very good at this year. We've been shooting the ball pretty well, but I think our defense has been very strong. Some teams have come out and really shot well against us but we have been able to contain them in the second half. It was good to see us come out strong again."
On Tulane's 21 turnovers tonight
"That's what we talked about at halftime. Of all the things that we looked at in there, it was the turnovers. We had 15 at the half and we were just sloppy. It was more of us relaxing a little bit and trying to make plays that weren't there. This is not a game that you can do that. I think it was us losing our focus within our offense."
On her team's performance so far this season
"It's good. We're 8-2, which is a great record, and we're playing well. As coaches, we're very critical sometimes, but when you look at each player, we ask are they playing better than they did last year. I think most of our team is playing better than they were last year at this time and even at the end of the year. Of course, our newcomers have come in and added something with Danielle, Olivia and Janique. They've certainly added to everything. Hopefully we can keep it going. We're going to be challenged. Games aren't going to be like this coming up. The tournament is going to be really tough. I think we've got four really good teams in it. Texas Tech is 10-1. It's going to be tough so we're going to have to be ready to play after Christmas.
On the team getting to go home for the holidays
"It's good for them. They get a little break. Coming after exams and then having three games is tough. They'll come back ready. This team has really responded after breaks. We took a break for Thanksgiving and they responded. Hopefully, we can come back and continue on what we're doing."
