1. Where do you currently reside? I live with my wife, Debby, in the French Quarter in New Orleans. We have two sons who graduated from Newman High School and were coached in basketball and baseball by my former roommate and teammate at Tulane, Billy Fitzgerald.
2. What is your current profession? I am an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine.
3. What is your fondest memory of your athletic career at Tulane? An undefeated freshman basketball team during the 1965-66 season and defeating LSU at Tulane in 1969 despite Pete Maravich scoring 65 points.
4. Do you still keep in contact with your former teammates? Yes. Several live in New Orleans and we have had a few "basketball reunions" for the out-of-town teammates over the years.
5. What advice would you give to the current student athletes? My advice would be to "seize the day" and enjoy your athletic career but strive to do well academically because a Tulane education opens up other opportunities outside of athletics.
6. Do you still play your sport? I enjoy competition and my sport now is golf, as I no longer play basketball.
7. Which student athlete, past or present, would you have liked to have had on your team? And Why? John Williams because we could have used the height.
8. Who is your favorite all time Tulane student athlete? John Arthurs, Billy Fitzgerald, Bob Spurck, Joel Miller, Rick Carlson, Don Simmons, Denny Sutton, Mike Radick, Tim Roniger, and Ned Kohnke, the undefeated freshman team.
9. Who was the toughest opponent you faced? Pete Maravich
10. What is your fondest memory of Tulane / New Orleans? Meeting my wife, Debby Armbrust, who was a student at Newcomb College.
