Green Wave Host Maryville on Monday

NEW ORLEANS - Looking to improve on its early season 2-1 record, the Tulane men's basketball team hosts Maryville University on Monday at 7 p.m. CST in Fogelman Arena.
The Green Wave (2-1) is coming off a 77-36 victory over Centenary in the home opener on Friday night. Kris Richard led four players in double figures with a game-high 15 points, while Kendall Timmons posted his second double double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Maryville (2-0), a Division II school located in St. Louis, Mo., plays in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Saints defeated Principia and Robert Morris-Springfield to begin the season and are led by first-year head coach Kevin Carroll. Freshman guard Asa Toney leads MU with 13.5 points per game, while sophomore guard Ryan Shotkoski is posting 9.0 points per outing.
"We just have to keep working," Tulane first-year head coach Ed Conroy said. "We are still a work in progress and Monday's game is the next opportunity to get better. These guys just need to come out ready to work hard. We are not there yet, but every day I see improvement."
Richard leads Tulane with 16.7 points per game, while Timmons is averaging a double double with 13.7 points and 11.3 rebounds. Jordan Callahan is also posting a double digit average with 11.3 points and is dishing out 5.3 assists per contest.
This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

Tulane will hit the road following the Thanksgiving holiday to face Nicholls State in Thibodaux, La., on Friday. The Green Wave next home game will be Nov. 30 against Alabama State.
