On the job Tulane did defensively against Marshall center Tynikki Crook
"Our defensive pressure was so different in the second half. When a team has such a good post player like Crook, you've got to make it a full-court game. It was nice when she was out trying to break the press and not on the block. She's just a really good player - 16 and 14 - and I thought we did a pretty good job with her when she caught the ball. We made it a full-court game and took advantage of our strengths. I thought Brett was very physical with her. She did a good job with her. Brittany Lindsey came in and gave us some good minutes against her, too. Again, I don't think she's a player you stop completely but you've got to limit her touches. By us creating so many turnovers, that made a big difference."
On the performance of the Tulane press
"The last two games, I think we've sort of regained our confidence in the press like we had last year. At the beginning of the year, we backed off a little bit on people because we didn't have Danielle and we had different people coming in and out of the lineup. I think we're starting to get that confidence back that we can go after it and get really aggressive. Sometimes our players don't realize just how fast they are and they get their hands on a lot. A lot of those steals came from just helping. The ball was in the air and they move on the pass. In the second half, we had a good performance by the whole team."
On Tulane being able to turn the game into a full-court contest
"I felt like if we could run up and down the floor, we would have the advantage there. I think they got a little fatigued. We both have low numbers, but we're used to playing that way and they're really not. We went from eight points at the half to 21 very, very quickly and that kind of put the game out of reach."
On the performance of Brittany Lindsey
"Offensively, she did some really good things. She made some tough shots. I think she could have had easier shots if she had worked to the basket, but she hit some turn-around jumpers and those are tough to stop. We pulled her at the end because we didn't want any injuries or anything. She did a great job."
On what Tulane needs to improve upon
"The one thing you take from this is we still have to do a better job of rebounding. That's the way a good team is going to stay with us. We do a lot of things well, but we've got to rebound better."
On the job Brittany McDonald did off the bench
"The kid hasn't played in two years. One her biggest challenges has been coming in mid-season like this where everyone else is in basketball shape and she's not. But I think she's doing a tremendous job. Hopefully, she'll get better every week. As we go into February, you'll see more of her quickness. I don't think people realize what a great athlete she is."
On the way Tulane played today against Marshall
"Today, I thought we saw some good things. We had some great passing between the guards and posts. Maybe some things are starting to fit together a little bit."
On Tulane starting the year 15-2 overall and 4-0 in C-USA action
"It's a great start, but it's a long road ahead. Our plight is to not become complacent. We've got some really good teams toward the end of our schedule and we're going to have to come ready to play. We just have to keep getting better, and I think we are. This is a fun team to coach. We play hard, and that's the fun thing - they come out and play hard every night."
