Overall thoughts on the game
"I love the personality of this team. They want to win and sometimes when things don't go your way you've got to find another way. We talked about just being the aggressor today and not just hoping to win but really to try and take it. Obviously, we didn't shoot very well (in the first half), but our defense kept us in it."
On Tulane's intensity level being the key to the win
"I felt that in the first half, our full-court pressure was the only thing that kept us in the game. In the second half, we were able to get those steals and convert them into points. We were able to hit some shots in the paint. Brittany Lindsey came in and gave us some good points, and we executed down the stretch. That was something we hadn't done in the two games that we lost. We got free throws, we finished them, went down and played defense, got fouled and we got free throws, and we executed plays. That's what this team has been good at and I'm glad to see us have that confidence today."
On the state of her team right now
"For us, I think some individuals aren't playing their best basketball right now. Sometimes, people go through slumps. You just have to get them back. As much as you can win and just keep working with the team, confidence is the biggest factor."
On the performance of Brittany Lindsey off the bench
"When you talk about confidence, I think she feels really good about her game right now. Not only offensively, but defensively she changed a lot of shots on the other end, blocked some shots and they didn't score as much in the paint when she was on them. She's in a really good place right now. For us, we just have to make sure we go to who's hot. I think that's important. If she's hot, we have to go to her. If it's Tiffany, we have to go to her and stay with that."
On Tulane getting freshman Whitney Bibbins back on the court for today's game
"Whitney has only practice two days in the past month so I knew that she was a little tired out there. Tyria Snow played well, Whitney did some good things and Janique gave us some time at the end. I think us being able to sub more in the first half maybe gave us a little more energy for the second half. It's almost February and you can get really worn down when people are playing 35 and 36 minutes. Hopefully, that's something that can help us that if we go overtime or have these tight games at the end, we'll be a little more rested."
Senior Forward Danielle Nunn
On Tulane's come-from-behind win over UTEP
"Every media time out that came along, we knew we were cutting the lead away each time. We just wanted to take it on possession at a time and just get each other inspired to go out there and play hard."
On the performance of teammate Brittany Lindsey
"We know that Brittany is one of the most athletic post players in our conference and we felt that we had the advantage out there. Anytime we have the opportunity to go inside with her, we try and get her as many touches as possible."
On the defensive effort by the Green Wave
"Our defense is what keeps us going. We didn't shoot very well (in the first half) but we were able to get turnovers. When we get steals off their turnovers, that creates easy points and gets our momentum going. It really helps us out a lot. That helps us run the floor. We can always get the steals, but when you get steals that create and you are able to run the floor, that's huge."
Senior Forward Brittany Lindsey
On getting 20 points for the second consecutive game
"This time, it felt like you were contributing to something good that happened rather than you were just getting the points. If you don't get the win, it doesn't make it any easier."
On what the turning point was in today's ballgame
"The biggest thing was noticing their weaknesses - which was them turning over the ball - but we weren't converting on their turnovers. In the second half we did a better job of capitalizing on their mistakes. Our intensity just kind of sparked everything, especially on defense. Our defense in turn sparked our offense and we owe it all to that energy that everyone was able to pull from. As people were coming off the bench, we had to keep that energy up otherwise we would have lost that game."
On what the biggest difference was between the first and second halves
"It was just being patient. In the first half, we were taking shots too early in the shot clock. We weren't waiting for the best shots. We were taking 3s over easy layups. If we would have waited and maybe reversed the ball one more time, we probably would have found that easier shot. In the second half, we definitely did that. We had patience and that patience tuned into easy shots."
