Overall thoughts on the game
"In the first half, I felt that we made a lot of mistakes, just didn't play well and put ourselves in a pretty big hole. We came out in the second half with a lot more energy and were a little more relaxed. Turnovers really hurt us tonight. That was really key. We needed to score and we had some turnovers. We also missed some open shots. Our game was two points and we missed five shots in the paint. We had them. It wasn't like we didn't have the look. We just missed some easy shots."
On the team's effort throughout the game, no matter the score
"A Top 25 team had 27 turnovers against us. That's a great stat and it helped us get back in the game. Our full-court defense is something we can improve on and get better at. We haven't done a lot of that yet, but as we get players back we are able to really expand what we can do. Overall, I thought we did some good things. We were in a position with about four minutes left to win the game and we just let it go."
On having to play without guard Olivia Grayson and Tyria Snow for large chunks due to foul trouble
"I think Turtle is a player that we need out there a lot. When she gets in foul trouble or gets hurt, that really hurts us. We need to be a little more consistent there. We don't have a lot of guard depth. The fouls on our guards really hurt us."
On Friday's opponent, the Idaho State Bengals
"I'm really impressed with Idaho State. They remind me a little bit of Portland State from last year, who beat us. They're really physical, they can shoot and they just run their offenses so efficiently. We're really going to have our work cut out for us. I think Purdue's defense is better that Idaho State, but I think Idaho State's offense might be better. We're going to have to respond and bounce back."
