Overall thoughts on the game
"Going into the game, we had two goals. One was to not let them get hot from the 3, which we did. They were 3-for-14 and we can live with that. The other was not to put them on the free throw line. In the last game, we put them on the free throw line 13 times and we thought that was too much. Tonight, we put them on the free throw line 28 times and they made 26 of them. That's the game. You can look at any other stat. It makes all the difference in the world."
On SMU hitting 26-of-28 free throws, including 19-of-21 in the second half
"When you look at a team like this, they've led the league in free throw percentage probably the last three or four years and they're very good again this year. We know how to play them and know we can't do that. Twenty-eight times is ridiculous. Again, we could go back and hit more of our free throws. Obviously, that would be better. But we picked two things a game that we feel like we have to stop. We stopped one thing but didn't stop the other."
On Roshaunda Barnes getting called for a charge late in the ballgame
"I thought was tough. Basically, she caught the ball and was dribbling, and their girl went right under her. But we shouldn't have been in that position. You've got Filmore making that shot. You've got Brittany tripping Wills out there. You've got their four dribbling the ball up the court, which is great. I don't know if they have an offense where the four is setting things up. If any of those things would have gone our way, even with the 28 free throws, we could have pulled it out."
On the 18-point performance by SMU's Delisha Wills
"She was 8-for-8 on the free throw line. She hit five shots for the game, but when you give somebody eight free throws, that isn't going to help. We felt like some of their shots in the paint, if we just let them shoot them and try and rebound, that was going to be the best strategy. We just didn't do that."
On where Tulane goes from here
"The rest of the schedule is tough. It's not just this Sunday. Hopefully we can regroup. Houston is a team this team has been focused on a little bit anyway. Hopefully, we can take care of business."
On Tulane's come-back effort
"Tiffany's 3 to tie the game was great. We ran that play for her. She came off that screen and she did a great job on that. That's what you want - your senior to make a play. It's unfortunate. I thought we did some good things. We just didn't have enough of them."
