Nov 24, 2014 | Men's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS - Coming off back-to-back solid all around efforts in wins over Mississippi Valley State and SUNO last week, the Tulane men's basketball team looks to keep the momentum going on Tuesday when they host Southern at Devlin Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. CT.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 by visiting http://es.pn/1xElO3x and can also be heard live on the Tulane IMG Sports Network (106.1 FM locally in the New Orleans area).
In the last two outings, the Green Wave (2-1) have combined to outscore the opponents, 189-106, while shooting 56.2 percent from the floor, knocking down 20-of-41 three-pointers. Tulane outrebound the opposition, 91-45. The Tulane bench has also posted 105 points in the past two outings.
Southern (1-3), on the other hand, enters Tuesday's game having dropped back-to-back road games at Ole Miss and Middle Tennessee State in which they only combined to score 86 points.
"The last several years we've had a down-to-the-wire game with Southern," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "This team has been NCAA Tournament worthy the past few years and we know it will be a battle. Our guys will have to have their best performance of the year to date to be successful on Tuesday."
This is the eighth meeting between the two schools. Tulane owns a 7-0 record against Southern, including 5-0 in games played at Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave's last win over Southern came on Nov. 13, 2013, 79-73, in Baton Rouge, while Tulane edged the Jaguars, 68-65, on Nov. 24, 2012 in Devlin in the last home meeting.
Tulane will host Southeastern Louisiana and Tennessee Tech this coming Friday and Sunday, respectively, to close out the homestand as part of the Tulane Tournament. The Green Wave will face SLU at 7 p.m. CT on Friday and TTU on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT. Both games will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
Season ticket prices for Tulane's inaugural season in The American are $300 for premium chairback seating, $200 for bleacher seating, and $400 for the family zone (2 adult/2 youth for both men's and women's basketball seasons). In addition, men's basketball season ticket holders will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase half-priced women's season tickets.
