Men's Basketball Wraps Up Homestand on Sunday
Nov 29, 2014 | Men's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane men's basketball team will close out the six-game season-opening homestand on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT when they host Tennessee Tech at Devlin Fieldhouse in the final game of the Tulane Classic.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 by clicking here and can also be heard live on the Tulane IMG Sports Network (106.1 FM locally in the New Orleans area).
The Green Wave have posted a 4-1 record during the homestand and look to extend the winning streak to five after dropping the opener back on Nov. 17. Tulane won for the fourth straight outing on Friday night, 71-61, against Southeastern Louisiana as part of the Tulane Classic. Louis Dabney led the way with 19 points, while Jay Hook added 16 and Jonathan Stark chipped in with 12.
The Golden Eagles, a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, are 3-2 this season with wins over Piedmont International, Chattanooga and Southeastern Louisiana. TTU is 1-1 in the Tulane Classic after splitting a pair of games against SLU.
"Tennessee Tech is a good team," Tulane head coach Ed Conroy said. "They split with SLU and are a deeper team, a bigger team and have more experience and strength on the front line. We will need to play really good basketball on Sunday."
This is the second meeting between the two schools. Tulane won the only other outing, 93-91, in double OT on Dec. 8, 1989 in New Orleans.
The Green Wave will hit the road for the first time this season on Wednesday when they travel to Loyola-Chicago for a 7 p.m. CT tip. Tulane will return home for a Saturday tilt with SEC foe Mississippi State. That game will tip at 1 p.m. CT to precede the 6:30 p.m. CT season-finale football game against Temple at Yulman Stadium.
Season ticket prices for Tulane's inaugural season in The American are $300 for premium chairback seating, $200 for bleacher seating, and $400 for the family zone (2 adult/2 youth for both men's and women's basketball seasons). In addition, men's basketball season ticket holders will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase half-priced women's season tickets.
For additional information, call the Tulane Ticket Office at (504) 861-WAVE (9283), reserve your seats on-line at www.TulaneGreenWave.com, or visit the Tulane Team Shop in person on the ground floor of the James W. Wilson, Jr. Center Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
