THE OPPONENT
Georgia Tech enters the game at 5-2 on the year, being led by Charles Mitchell, who is averaging a double-double. Mitchell has notched a double-double in each of the team's seven games. The Yellow Jackets are coming off of a midweek win against Wofford, 77-61. Their two losses this season have come at home against East Tennessee State, 69-68, and to No. 8/9 Villanova at the NIT Season Tipoff in Brooklyn.
THE SERIES
This marks the 70th all-time meeting between the Tulane and the Yellow Jackets. The two teams first met in 1909 and were both members of the SEC. Most recently, the Green Wave fell in Atlanta to Georgia Tech, 79-61. Tulane won three of the last four meetings and boast a 22-11 record against the Yellow Jackets at home.
LAST TIME OUT
It was another late lay-in by Dylan Osetkowski that earned the Green Wave the victory, marking the second time in three games that scenario has occurred. Osetkowski notched his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 boards, while graduate student Jernard Jarreau earned his first of the year with 10 points and 13 rebounds. UNO was led by Christavious Gill, whose big second half helped him finish with 15 points in the game. With 33 seconds left it in the game, Osetkowski remained calm and took advantage of an open look at the basket, as he banked in the eventual game-winner. Jarreau sealed the victory with a block on UNO's next possession, leaving the Privateers forced to foul.
Largest Comeback
The Green Wave notched its largest comeback victory in program history against Stephen F. Austin during the Challenge in Music City. Tulane trail by as many as 26 points in the game, but overcame the deficit and topped the Lumberjack on a late shot by Dylan Osetkowski for its first lead of the night and the victory. Before this victory, Tulane had never trailed by 20-or-more points and comeback to win. Since 2000, the largest deficit the team has overcome to win has been 17 points.
DOUBLE UP
Sophomore Dylan Osetkowski has notched a double-double in four games this season. He is currently averaging 10.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Osetkowski earned his most recent double-double with 11 poits and 11 boards against UNO. Graduate student Jernard Jarreau became the second player on this year's rosters to notch a double-double with he scored 10 points and brought down 13 rebounds in the same game
DOMINATING THE GLASS
The Green Wave have out-rebounded their opponent in seven of their eight games so far this season. Sophomore Dylan Osetkowski has brought down nearly double the boards as any of his teammates with 63 so far this year.
