NEW ORLEANS - With the summer months right around the corner, the Tulane baseball program has announced its summer camp schedule, to be held throughout June, July and August at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, and will be open to any and all entrants looking to improve their skills on the diamond.
The camps will feature instruction by first-year head coach David Pierce and his coaching staff, along with current members of the Green Wave baseball program.
"Hosting camps is exciting for a collegiate baseball program, and it is great to create drills and improve skills for the youth," said Pierce. "We hope to have as many people as possible take part in our summer baseball camps."
There are four weeks of Minor League Youth Camps for children ages 6-12. They will be held from June 15-18, June 22-25, July 6-9 and July 13-16. These camps are designed to teach correct fundamentals to the younger player while also providing a clear understanding of the game. Technical skills and the rules of baseball will be taught, and campers will also learn sportsmanship and respect for the game of baseball.
From June 30-July 2, the Green Wave will also hold an Advanced Skills Camp for ages 13-18. This comprehensive skills clinic will aid and assist those looking to refine their game while exposing them to the highest caliber of instruction. Players will receive instruction in all facets of the game, as well as participate in live game action.
Finally, there will be two one-day camps for 2016-2019 high school graduates. The Position Player Camp will be held on June 17 while the Elite Prospect Camp will be held on August 1. Created specifically for high school players, campers will display their skills in a pro style workout, defensive workout and live batting practice on the field. During the Elite Prospect camp, campers will also be given the perfect opportunity to display their abilities to live games for the camp staff. Campers will receive instruction from the Tulane Baseball coaching staff and other coaches from all levels of college baseball.
Prices for each camp vary. For more information on each camp, as well as registration information, please click here.
