MBB: Conroy travels to Kuwait for Hardwood Classic

NEW ORLEANS - Tulane men's basketball head coach Ed Conroy is set to join Feherty's Troops First Foundation in Kuwait this week as part of the Hardwood Classic. This is the fourth of such events Conroy, who will be joined by seven other college coaches for the annual tournament in the Middle East.
At the Hardwood Classic, teams of currently deployed troops are divided up and participate in a reverse draft, where the team selects its coach, to participate in a double-elimination tournament. The event includes three days of competition, as well as scrimmages and practices to prepare for game play. Besides Conroy, this year's Hardwood Classic features Dino Gaudio (ESPN Analyst, former head coach Wake Forest), Pete Gillen (CBS Sports Analyst, former head coach at Virginia), Greg Kampe (Oakland University), Steve Lavin (Fox Sports Analyst, former head coach St. John's), Reggie Minton (Deputy Executive Director NABC, former head coach Air Force), Jimmy Patsos (Siena College) and Gary Stewart (Stevenson University).
