On how the team performed
"We were playing in streaks. We played well and improved on a lot of the things that we worked on during the preseason, and then we would go into runs of errors on defense and offense. We need to work on being more mentally prepared, playing more sound and getting tougher. We've been practicing better than we competed today. We need to learn how to push through tough situations and not have those breakdowns. Some of it is just fundamentals. For example, our serve-receive was good in the first match and it dropped considerably in the second. We need to bring our standards of how we need to play up."
On the performance of the Green Wave freshmen
"All three of the freshmen who played today did really well. That was the bright spot of the second match. Aubrey is not afraid to take big swings and she played hard. Lisa is a fighter and she's going to do nothing but get better. She has the right attitude and works hard in her role. Dayna was steady and will no doubt be more and more of an offensive weapon for us as she gets stronger. All of them have a bright future."
On what the team takes from today's matches
"We just need to look to improve. We understand that we have to do a better job on our side and simply play better volleyball. We looked good in practice and now we have to learn to bring that level of play to other teams' gyms. We learned some lessons today and will get better as a result."
