NEW ORLEANS – Tulane volleyball will look to snap an eight-match losing streak this weekend as it hosts the UTSA Roadrunners and the UAB Blazers inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on Friday and Sunday. The Green Wave will take on the Roadrunners at 6:30 p.m. Friday before squaring off with the Blazers at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Wave rolls into the sixth week of league play on an eight-match losing streak and a 1-9 record in The American this season. Tulane went 0-2 last week on the road falling 1-3 at Wichita State on Friday, October 24, and 1-3 at Rice on Sunday, October 26. The two defeats dropped the Green Wave to 1-6 in true road matches this season including an 0-5 mark against conference opponents.

Offensively, Tulane is paced by the duo of Avery Burks and Zoe Rachow. Burks leads the Wave with 347 kills this season averaging 4.28 kills per set while Rachow has led the way setting the table for the Green Wave with 564 total assists averaging 7.73 per set.

On defense for Tulane, Dayla Ortiz anchors the team with 301 digs while averaging 3.86 per set and Sabrina Skyers patrols the net with a team-high 68.0 total blocks.

TULANE VS. UTSA
This marks the ninth meeting all-time between Tulane and UTSA with the Green Wave trailing the series 3-5 despite winning the last two matchups. The Wave swept the two matches between the two teams last season including a 3-0 sweep at home on November 1, 2024. Tulane holds a 1-1 record against the Roadrunners at home with UTSA winning the first matchup in New Orleans 3-2 on October 3, 1992. The last time the Green Wave lost to UTSA in the series was on October 21, 2023, in San Antonio by a final score of 1-3.

Sunday's matchup will be the second matchup of the year and the 41st meeting all-time between Tulane and UAB. The Green Wave has lost the last two matches against the Blazers including a 0-3 defeat on the road on October 17 to drop to 24-16 overall in the series. The Wave holds a 12-6 record in Uptown against UAB with three-consecutive victories over the Blazers at home including Tulane's last win in the series 3-0 on October 2, 2024. The last time the Wave lost at home to UAB was on September 30, 2011, by a final score of 2-3.
