Overall thoughts on the match
"Coming away with a win is the most important thing. We played a much-improved UNO team which showed great fight, maximized the potential that they have and played us tough. We were kind of surprised the way they responded from set one to set two. We were not as consistent and we relied on individuals to get the win for us too much in that set. That's something that we have to work on, but give credit to UNO because they played a good match. We came out on top, and that's what matters."
On the performance of junior outside hitter Tea Juric
"Tea is stepping up as a leader. She's controlling more of the court in the back and she has accepted the challenge. She's getting set the most and she came up with some good kills for us at the end. That's what your best player and team captain should do. We just have to make sure that we don't rely on individuals too much in the future. We have to develop our team play more."
On Tulane tallying a season-best 13 service aces
"When UNO could pass well, they ran their middle very well. At some points we were not able to stop them, but overall, we had a good serving match. Kenzie and Miah got on some runs, which was good to see. We really served well throughout the match."
On Tulane utilizing multiple setters throughout the season so far and if that is good or bad thing for the team overall
"It's both. We have three on scholarship for a reason. They each bring different qualities. We're still looking for them to become more consistent and become more fluent in running our offense. They need to be better at blocking, playing defense and serving."
On being in the midst of a five-match stretch over a nine-day period
"We have two matches this weekend, then we play again next Wednesday. We just have to practice when we're able and figure out who to play and who is the most consistent on any given day in order to put out our best team against each opponent. Some things are obvious and some things are not. We are still looking for more consistency, but we'll put our best team out there and take it match by match."
