NEW ORLEANS – Tulane will end a nine-day break and play its final three games of the 2016 portion of its schedule at home, beginning Monday, Dec. 19 when it hosts McNeese State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on ESPN3/WatchESPN.
AAC Rookie of the Week:
• Freshman guard Ray Ona Embo was named American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, Dec. 12 after averaging 14 points, 4.5 assists, four rebounds and 1.5 steals in wins over Southern and Southern Miss. He had a career-high six assists against the Jaguars, followed by a personal-best 15 points against the Golden Eagles.
Second-Half Shooting:
• The Green Wave has shot 50 percent or better from the field in four-straight games and five times this season, going 18-for-36 (.500) at New Orleans on Nov. 29, 15-for-30 (.500) at home against St. John's on Dec. 2, 19-for-33 (.576) versus Southern on Dec. 7 and 14-for-27 (.519) at Southern Miss on Dec. 10. Three of the five performances have come at home, as Tulane first accomplished the feat in its second game of the season by going 15-for-30 (.500) against Southeastern Louisiana on Nov. 14.
Last Time Out:
• Cameron Reynolds recorded his second-career double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, as Tulane earned its first road victory of the season, 71-64, at Southern Miss on Dec. 10. Reynolds shot 8-for-14 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range for his fourth 20-point performance of the season, while Ray Ona Embo added a career-high 15 points to complement five rebounds, three assists and a trio of steals. Blake Paul reached double-figures for the second time in as many games with 10 points and grabbed seven boards.
The Opponent:
• McNeese State (2-7) enters Monday's matchup on short rest following a 74-66 home loss Saturday night against N.C. Central. Jarren Greenwood led the team with 15 points and six assists, while Jamaya Burr had 13 points.
• The Cowboys are 0-4 this season when playing on the road and three of those defeats have come against common, future opponents of Tulane: at Memphis (Nov. 22) at Texas State (Nov. 29) and at SMU (Dec. 14).
• In its last road game at SMU, McNeese State shot just 19-for-62 (.306) overall despite making 11 three-pointers. Kalob Ledoux led the team with 16 points in 20 minutes off the bench.
The Series:
• Monday's matchup marks the third all-time meeting between the Green Wave and the Cowboys and first since the 2009-10 campaign, as each team owns one victory apiece.
