NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane golf team will make its spring debut this week at the UCF Challenge, Sunday-Tuesday, February 7-9, at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
The Green Wave will play with golfers from Kentucky and Minnesota during Sunday's opening round and the groups will start from the first tee at 7:30 a.m. CST.
The event is hosted by fellow American Athletic Conference member, UCF, and features an 18-team field consisting of Augusta, Campbell, Daytona State College, East Carolina, Houston, Iowa State, Kentucky, Miami, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, Texas, Tulane, USF, Vanderbilt, Western Carolina and Wisconsin.
"We have worked very hard in the offseason and are looking forward to getting started on Sunday," Tulane head coach Lorne Don. "This is a great tournament with a very challenging field so we will need to be focused every day and take one shot at a time if we are going to compete for the title."
Tulane will play with a line-up featuring the senior trio of Silvia Garces, Madison Opfer and Emily Penttila, along with the junior Belen Goicoechea and freshman Laura Munoz.
