HOW IT WAS WON
After opening the morning with a disappointing 19-25 loss, the Green Wave bounced back in set two with a handy 25-13 win over McNeese on six blocks that helped Tulane maintain its early lead. Tulane then defeated the Cowgirls 25-22 in set three, but set four proved a challenge as Tulane fell in a 24-26 nail-biter despite matching the Cowgirls in kills at 16 apiece. In the fifth set, the Green Wave pulled off the match victory with a convincing 15-7 final on senior middle hitter Sarah Strasner's sixteenth kill of the day.

QUOTE
"It was nice to see us battle back this morning. We learned a lot in the match as far as how not to play afraid. We can't play afraid to lose, and the fourth set is proof of that because we let them back in it. We came back after the first set and played sets two and three very well, like we're capable of doing, but in set four, we started playing tentatively. We came out in set five and played our game and finished it off."
--Tulane head coach Jim Barnes
