NEW ORLEANS – After a successful weekend at the Southern Miss Invitational to open up the 2016 season, the Green Wave return to the friendly confines of Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse to host the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Volleyball Classic. The tournament will be the fifteenth Sugar Bowl-sponsored event in Tulane volleyball history and will feature opponents Bethune-Cookman, Sam Houston State and UT-Rio Grande Valley.
QUOTE
"The team is ready to play at home in front of our Tulane fans and family. Our first opponent, UT-Rio Grande Valley, beat Baylor last weekend, so it will be a good contest to kick off our home tournament. We played very well in Hattiesburg, and we're looking forward to going for another tournament championship. Tulane fans will be impressed with the way our team works together to play at a very high level."
--Tulane volleyball head coach Jim Barnes

-Sam Houston opened up with back-to-back five-set losses to UT-Arlington and Sacramento State at the UTA Mavericks Classic. The Wild Kats wrapped up the weekend with a sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
-UT-Rio Grande Valley started out their season on a high note, going 2-1 in Waco, Texas and upsetting host Baylor 3-1 on their home court. The Vaqueros dropped their second match to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 3-2 before sweeping the nightcap against Prairie View A&M.
