
Men's Basketball Adds Sammis Reyes

NEW ORLEANS — Tulane head men's basketball coach Mike Dunleavy, Sr., has announced the addition of Sammis Reyes to the 2016-17 roster. Reyes will be available as a sophomore for the Green Wave this season, and most recently attended Palm Beach State Junior College after spending a semester at Hawaii.
At Palm Beach State, Reyes helped his team get out to a 14-0 start in 2015-16, eventually notching a 24-8 record and a state semifinal appearance by season's end. The 6-7, 240-pound forward set season highs against FSC-Jacksonville when he scored 18 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and added four assists in the game.Â
Prior to beginning his collegiate career Reyes was a four-year letterwinner at North Broward Prep. As a senior, he helped his team to a 26-5 record, and averaged 24.5 points, 13.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.6 blocks per game. Reyes notched a career-best 38 points and 18 rebounds in his final season. He has also spent time playing for the Chilean National Team.Â
